About Us

Modern society has made extraordinary progress by focusing on technical systems change. We have built powerful tools, and institutions that have improved many facets of human life.
At the same time, we are reaching a breaking point. Our systems are no longer producing the kind of society many of us want to live in. We continue to optimize them without addressing the deeper forces that shape how they are designed, governed, and used.
Those forces are upstream.
Systems are created by people, and people act from their inner foundation and values. To truly transform the systems that shape our society, we must re-emphasize inner transformation as a complement to our ever-growing technical capacity and power to catalyze outer change.
Throughout history, and now increasingly supported by scientific research, experiential and embodied spiritual practice has been one of the most durable ways humans have developed this inner foundation. It does not replace technical skill. It shapes how that skill is applied.
For the first time, technology, if designed and used wisely, may be able to support this inner work at meaningful scale. As outlined in our Spirit Tech 3.0 vision article, recent technological breakthroughs have opened a real opportunity to support inner development in new and powerful ways.
From this perspective, an important question emerges:
Can modern technology support spiritual development and inner transformation at scale, and help humanity move toward greater wholeness and connectedness?
If we take the perspective outlined above seriously, this becomes one of the most important questions of our time. And yet, Spirit Tech remains remains profoundly under-resourced, underfunded, fragmented, and largely invisible to world-class technical and entrepreneurial talent.
The Spirit Tech Foundation exists to change that.
We're launching the first dedicated Spirit Tech fund to:
Seed 100 ventures with at least $1M of catalytic capital each.
Make it as easy as possible for founders to preserve spiritual integrity as they scale.
Build the attraction basin for new talent and capital interested in the sector.

About the Role

One of the Spirit Tech Foundation’s primary mandates is to dramatically increase the flow of aligned capital into the Spirit Tech sector.
We are in process of raising a catalytic venture philanthropy fund with the ambition to seed 100 Spirit Tech ventures over the next decade with at least $1M each. The fund is design to bridge the sector from early experimentation to long-term sustainability and demonstrate that spiritually aligned innovation can be both impactful and economically viable.
The Venture Investment Lead will design, build, and run the full investment engine of the Spirit Tech Foundation. They will shape the investment thesis, define portfolio construction strategy, lead diligence and deployment, and ensure we build a disciplined yet innovative model for funding spiritually aligned technology.
We are looking for someone who can:
Lead the end-to-end investment process from sourcing to diligence to investment to exit
Develop and iterate the overall investment framework, thesis, and portfolio construction strategy
Design fund operations, governance processes, and reporting systems appropriate for a nonprofit investment vehicle
Manage an investment team and Investment Committee
Build and nurture a strong network of co-investors and follow-on funders
Help shape what “spiritually aligned capital” looks like in practice
This is a full-time co-founder level role, with the option to start part-time during a six-month mutual discovery period. The position is remote, with a preference for someone based in the Bay Area or able to travel there regularly for periods of co-working and collaboration.

This Role is Perfect For Someone Who

Is passionate about the intersection of spirituality and technology
Has a successful track record in early-stage investing (ideally in VC)
Understands the limitations of the traditional VC model and wants to innovate on it
Is energized and unafraid of co-founding something ambitious and complex from the ground up
Sees work as a spiritual practice and an opportunity for growth, integration, and service
Feels called to help shape the field of Spirit Tech and the cultural narrative around it
Thrives in collaboration with spiritual entrepreneurs, builders, and donors
Is deeply committed to their own path of awakening and integrity
Wants to learn from and work alongside some of the most inspiring thinkers, founders, and wisdom teachers in the world
This is a rare opportunity to help shape an entirely new field at the intersection of spirituality, culture, and technology.

We will be Assessing Candidates on the Following Success Factors

Values alignment
Passion and deep curiosity for Spirit Tech and its potential to serve human evolution
Commitment to daily spiritual growth and inner work
Sees work as a spiritual practice and a path of integration
Grounded integrity and discernment in relationships and decision-making
Willingness to lean into challenge and complexity with resilience and presence
Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to thrive in ambiguity and fast-changing environment
A joy to collaborate with and uplift others
Role-specific skills
Strong investment toolkit across sourcing, diligence, portfolio construction, and exit strategy
Proven ability to vet and identify top founders including the ability to assess integrity, self awareness, and long term leadership potential alongside commercial viability
Experience designing and running end to end fund processes including sourcing funnels, diligence systems, IC preparation, deployment pacing, and portfolio reporting
Strong relationship building and communication skills — can speak both the language of founders and investors
Experience building and mentoring small, high-performing teams
Credible external presence with the ability to represent the Foundation and help shape Spirit Tech into a respected and investable category
