We’re looking for a passionate Senior Analytics Engineer to elevate Insight Timer — the world’s largest meditation and wellness community, with over 30 million users. As part of our dynamic analytics team, you'll work closely with product and data to transform ideas into impactful insights that drive people's wellbeing.

This is a hands-on role focused on transforming complex data into actionable insights, enabling strategic decisions and product enhancements. You'll utilise your communication skills to convey data concepts clearly and apply software engineering practices to maintain clean, accessible data sets. Having a product mindset is essential, as you'll be tasked with crafting insights that enhance the app experience over the user's lifetime.

We thrive on innovation and impactful work. You’ll be empowered to make critical decisions while balancing speed and agility to deliver features. If you’re driven by the challenge of building scalable, insightful systems that touch millions, we’re excited to meet you.

About Insight Timer

Imagine a platform which could amplify something as simple as your attendance into deep transformational shifts for humanity. A place where showing up was enough. Where each individual visit combined with millions more to trigger huge waves of health and happiness around the world. What would such a platform look like? Could you even build it? And more importantly, how would you protect it from becoming another Instagram, TikTok or Twitter which magnify the very worst of us.

If we can answer these questions, we believe Insight Timer’s community will emerge as one of the most important companies of the 21st century. A place - not a product - which is capable of reversing the modern day health pandemic by harmonising the human spirit before problems arise. And if we get there... well, the opportunities are endless. Imagine a modern-day renaissance where health, belonging and purpose become the new definitions of happiness for hundreds of millions of people around the world, including you.

And all you need to do… is show up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Leverage strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure concepts are easily understood.
  • Apply software engineering practices to provide clean data sets from the data warehouse to end users.
  • Design and build out analytic data models that support answering questions from our product team and company leaders.
  • Analyse behavioural and financial product data to identify customer segments, improve conversion, and gain understanding of the consumer life cycle within the product.
  • Experience with modern cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Strong competency with SQL. You're fluent in SQL within analytical data warehouses and BI tools. We are using BigQuery as our Data Warehouse, Looker as BI tools. We are DBT heavy users, so knowing DBT is a plus.
  • Experience working with event-oriented data sets of large size and diverse schemas.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Background in mathematics or statistics. A solid foundational grounding in these areas, and/or a bachelor’s degree with a STEM focus is a plus.
  • Excellent, concise communicator. You can easily convey your thoughts, opinions, and feelings with the product team and have the ability to articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, analyse, and interpret A/B tests.
  • We offer competitive salaries and options.
  • We’re remote first, with no central office location. We dial in from all over the world.
  • Extra leave days are available for your well-being and birthday.
  • We have dedicated learning and development budgets to support your growth.
  • We host a global company retreat each year.

We dial in from all over the world, and it's important that our team is just as diverse as our community of users, customers and teachers. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, veteran, or disability status.

Even if you don't think you quite meet all of the skills listed or tick all the boxes, we'd still love to hear from you.
