(accountabilities)

As a Video Editor at build3, your mission is to transform raw footage into powerful, purpose-driven content that fuels the story of startups. Startups who are building for positive impact. From snappy reels to emotionally resonant long-form content, your work will shape how our community sees, feels, and connects with our mission.

This role goes far beyond basic edits, it's about storytelling through rhythm, visuals, sound, and soul.

You’ll help us:

• Capture the Real:
  Edit behind-the-scenes moments, founder journeys, program sessions, and community stories that reflect the depth and authenticity of our work.

• Shape the Narrative:
  Build short- and long-form content that aligns with our storytelling themes — impact, startup life, vulnerability, wins/losses, and growth.

• Add Soul to the Visuals:
  Use motion graphics, clean transitions, type, music, and pacing to bring emotion and polish to our content.

• Engage the Community:
  Co-create content for Instagram, YouTube, and other channels that sparks curiosity, reflection, and a sense of belonging within our tribe.

CONTENT + CRAFT

• Strong editing sense: timing, structure, pace, and narrative flow

• Experience editing Reels, interviews, podcasts, and events

• Comfortable working with footage that’s imperfect but real

• Motion design or graphic skills (text animation, titles, light VFX) are a big plus

• Sound editing, basic mixing, music syncing
  
  

TOOLS + TECH

• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve is required

• Comfortable with other editing software if you're not familiar with these

• Working knowledge of After Effects or Canva for motion graphics

• Familiar with DSLR/mirrorless camera formats and audio syncing

• Organized with file management and versioning

• Comfortable with remote collaboration (Google Drive, Google Chat)
